Description

The large, deep purple florets are arranged in a circle with a profusion of tiny star like light purple flowers in the center of this large bloom. A beautiful, rounded plant with flowers from top to bottom because it blooms on old and new growth. In the fall the rich, thick green foliage turns to a burgundy color adding even more seasonal interest!
To encourage the rich dark purple blooms you will most likely need to add some aluminum sulfate in the spring. Be sure to follow product directions. Soils with a pH below 6.0 (acidic soil) will produce purple blooms and a pH above 6.0 will produce cherry red flowers.
